Meet The faces of Halcrow Hills
Kirsten and Rob
Kirsten and Rob are the parents of five wonderful children and are grandparents to an adorable little boy. Kirsten is a carrier of the Fragile X gene and has passed on that mutated gene to four out their five children. They created Halcrow Hills to help provide opportunities for their children and other family members to learn job and daily living skills.
Gabe and AJ
Gabe is a single dad and is a carrier of the Fragile X gene. Despite the struggles that come from being a carrier, Gabe works hard to be the best dad he can be to his little guy. AJ is a happy, energetic boy. Although he does not have Fragile X, he does have global delays. He loves to go to day care and his special needs preschool and is flourishing in those enviornments.
Molly and Brayan
Molly is a newlywed! She is also a carrier of the Fragile X gene and has Autism. She makes friends wherever she goes (especially if it is an animal). She is a talented artist and the best cat mom to her emotional support pet, Mufasa.
Teagan
Teagan is the quiet sibling. She is the middle child and the only one not affected by Fragile X. She is a great big sister to her two little brothers and fun loving aunt to AJ. Teagan is a big help to her family.
Artie and Liam
Artie (10) and Liam (11) are the youngest children. They both have full mutation Fragile X which has caused developmental disabilities. Artie also has Agenesis of the Corpus Callosum. While he doesn't have Autism, he does have corresponding traits. Artie is a big teaser, loves to laugh and give hugs, high fives and knuckles and wants to be Spiderman.
Liam has Autism along with Fragile X Syndrome. He also deals with Nystagmus in his eyes and Absence Seizures. He is a happy boy who loves watching YouTube, playing with cars, trucks and trains, and loves McDonalds Happy Meals.
